The NewSpace Africa Conference was a high-level gathering of industry leaders, commercial space companies, investors, and other key stakeholders in the African space and satellite industry. Attended by Semou Diouf (JPO Director), Bakienon Louis (Director of Operations-ASECNA), Alex Wanda (GNSS Expert) and Agnes Kobusinge (GNSS Operations expert), the 3-day conference featured selected keynotes, interactive sessions, panel discussions and offered a platform for business pitches, B2B matchmaking, B2C matchmaking and unique networking opportunities.

JPO was one of the platinum sponsors of the event and also took part in two panel discussions; one on Newspace for satellite navigation and EO development and the other on accelerating public-private and international collaborations. Before the conference, JPO director Semou Diouf was interviewed by Space in Africa, during which he spoke about JPO and the programme including the opportunities for GNSS even beyond the Aviation sector. During the conference, to foster Increased visibility of the JPO and its Programme, JPO had an exhibition booth where insights about its programme, GNSS and SBAS benefits in Africa were showcased. There were various interactions and exchanges with several participants at the conference on the activities of JPO and possible areas of collaboration.

In addition, the conference provided an opportunity for JPO to stay abreast with the latest developments regarding Newspace in Africa.
