SatNav Africa JPO took part in the fifth meeting of the African Air Navigation Services Providers (ANSPs) that was held in Lomé, Togo from 28th March to 2nd April 2022. The main objectives of the meeting were to: review the status of implementation of the recommendations from the last African ANSPs meeting which was held in 2019; analyse the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the provision of air navigation services; identify the African ANSPs’ common challenges, and to agree on priority areas of cooperation.

The meeting was attended by over 150 participants from air navigation service provision departments, public sector and private sector and end to end-users. JPO was represented by Semou Diouf (Director), Alex WANDA (GNSS expert) and Bedan THENDU (Aviation Expert). JPO delivered a presentation on fostering a full resilient navigation infrastructure which raised awareness on the issue of GNSS vulnerabilities and the need to adopt SBAS and development of MONS. JPO also fostered an increase in the visibility of its programme through the display of its promotional material at its exhibition booth and exchange with certain key institutions on the activities of JPO and possible areas of collaboration.
