1st AUC technical working group - continental study on Air Navigation Services

The Workshop of the 1st AUC technical working group - continental study on Air Navigation Services (ANS) in Africa took place from 27th to 30th June, 2023 in Casablanca, Morocco.

SatNav Africa JPO was among key stakeholders participating in the 3rd Meeting of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

In continuation of its efforts to increase awareness of the benefits of implementing the Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) in Africa, the SatNav Africa Joint Program Office (JPO) in collaboration with the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA) organised the 4th outreach event in Kigali Rwanda, targeting Aviation and non-aviation experts from Eastern African Region.

The 30th Ordinary Summit of the African Union (AU) Assembly of Heads of States and Government Summit held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in January 2018 launched the Single African Air Market (SAATM). Following the Decisions by the AU Heads of States Summit to fast track the implementation of SAATM, in January 2019 the AUC in collaboration with AFCAC set up the SAATM Joint Prioritized Action Plan involving all partners and key stakeholders in the implementation of SAATM.
